Tagesablauf

(English) Day 1: Arrive at Bagdogra Airport; drive to Gangtok

India Tours’ representative will meet and greet you at Bagdogra Airport (officially known as the Tenzing Norgay International Airport). Then, we will transfer you to Gangtok in a comfortable vehicle. As you arrive, you will check-in to the pre-booked hotel and relax. Spend the rest of the day at leisure and enjoy overnight stay.

Day 2: Tour of Lake Tsomgo and Baba Mandir

Right after breakfast, you will leave for an excursion to Lake Tsomgo, also known as Tsongmo or Changu Lake. Located at a distance of 40km from Gangtok, this glacial lake is at an altitude of 12,400 ft. After this, you will head towards Baba Mandir, which is a memorial and temple honoring the folk hero, Indian army soldier and saint, Baba Harbhajan Singh. The Baba Mandir is located between the Nathula pass and Jelepla pass at an altitude of 13, 123 ft and is 55km away from Gangtok. (Kindly note that the excursion to Tsomgo Lake may be canceled in case of a landslide or such other unforeseeable situations and an alternative sightseeing will be provided to you.)

Day 3: Drive to Lachen

Once you have filled yourself with delicious breakfast, our representative will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Lachen. You will be driven to an altitude of 8,500 ft and the drive is going to be a bit windy as you will be taken through mountainous roads. As enjoyable as the sights will be, you must be prepared in case you are prone to road sickness. On the way to Lachen, you will be visiting Singhik Viewpoint, Seven Sister Waterfalls and Naga Falls. You will be arriving at your destination in the evening. Enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Drive to Chopta Valley & Gurudongmar Lake; back to Lachen

Our representative will meet you at your hotel early morning and take you to Chopta Valley (4,000m above sea level). Renowned as the valley of flowers, the myriad hues of this untouched, unexplored valley will tantalize your senses.  After experiencing this slice of paradise situated in the Himalayas, you will head towards Gurudongmar Lake. Located at an altitude of 17,800 ft, this is one of the highest lakes in India and the world. Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists consider this lake sacred. Then, return back to the hotel and stay the night in Lachen.

Day 5: Drive to Lachung

Post-breakfast, prepare yourself for a 2-hour drive to the beautiful mountain village of Lachung. As you arrive at Lachung, check-in at your pre-booked hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Enjoy an overnight stay.

Day 6: Excursion to Yumthang Valley & Zero Point; back to Lachung

Right after breakfast, head to the Yumthang Valley or the Sikkim Valley of Flowers sanctuary. This nature sanctuary has hot springs, river, rolling meadows and yaks grazing pastures. Since it is at an elevation of 11,693 ft, you can naturally look forward to varied species of flora. After this, you will head to Zero Point (Yume Samdong), which is considered by many as the road that leads to paradise. On your way back, you will visit the hot spring that is thought to have many medicinal properties. Head back to the hotel for lunch and enjoy overnight stay.

Day 7: Drive to Gangtok

On the 6th day of your tour, you will be transferred to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. On your way, you will witness the fantastic Bheema and Twin Falls. Check-in at your hotel on your arrival and relax as you must be tired after a 6-hour journey. Spend the rest of the day as you like and stay the night in Gangtok.

Day 8: Gangtok Sightseeing

After breakfast, prepare yourself for an entire day of local sightseeing including Tashi View Point, the Ganesh Tok, the Hanuman Tok, Ranka Monastery (Lingdum Monastery), Banjhakri Falls, Cottage Industry, Dro-dul Chorten, Flower show, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and Handicraft Center. Return to your hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 9: Drive to Pelling

After you have digged into traditional breakfast, you will be driven to Pelling. As you arrive, you will check-in to your pre-booked hotel and can spend the rest of the day at leisure. Stay the night in Pelling.

Day 10: Sightseeing in Pelling

On the 10th day of your tour, you will enjoy a full day sightseeing of Pelling. The sightseeing tour will be divided into two parts. During the 1st half of the tour, you will be visiting the Darap Village, Rimbi Waterfalls, Sewaro Rock Garden, Khecheopalri Lake and Khangchendzonga (Kanchenjunga) Waterfalls. You can take a break after this and replenish yourself with a hearty lunch before beginning the second half of the tour, which will be covering Pemayangtse Monastery, New Helipad Ground and Rabdentse Ruins. Return to your hotel and enjoy an overnight stay.

Day 11: Drive to Kalimpong

On the 11th day of your tour, you will be transferred to Kalimpong after breakfast. This is approximately a 4-hour journey and the winding mountainous road is sure to keep you hooked. As soon as you arrive, our representative will assist you with the hotel check-in formalities. You can spend the rest of your day at leisure. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Sightseeing in Kalimpong; drive to Darjeeling

Wake up early and eat your breakfast quickly because you have a long day ahead of you. Today, you will be enjoying a half day tour of Kalimpong covering Mangal Dham, Dr. Graham’s Home, Deolo Hill, Golf Garden, Durpin Dara Hills and Flowers Nurseries. After your sightseeing tour, you will be driven to Darjeeling, the queen of hills. Upon arrival, you will check-in at the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Stay the night at the hotel.

Day 13: Sightseeing in Darjeeling

Set your alarm as early as 4:00 am as today, you will be going to the Tiger Hill to witness the spectacular sunrise over the mighty Mt. Khangchendzonga (Kanchenjunga). On your way back, you will be paying a visit to the Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After you return to the hotel, have your breakfast and prepare to visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tea Garden, Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center (closed on Sunday), Japanese Temple and Ropeway. In the evening, you can enjoy shopping or simply relax. Stay the night at the hotel.

Day 14: Excursion to Mirik

Enjoy a hearty breakfast and set out to Mirik Lake through the Indo-Nepal Border. Here, you will be visiting the man-made Sumendu Lake, Tea Estates and Cardamom Plantations. If you want, you can indulge in boating on the artificial lake. As you arrive, you will be checked into your hotel and allowed to spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at a hotel in Mirik.

Day 15: Drive to Bagdogra Airport

Unfortunately, we have come to the end of our tour. After breakfast, we will transfer you to Bagdogra Airport and wish you a safe journey ahead. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed your time with us.
